Offshore pollack and cod (and maybe bass) 10 Mar, 2014 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
The cod will move on to the wrecks to join the pollack, and there may even be some bass on *that* wreck way out there...
Offshore pollack (cancelled) 10 Feb, 2014 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
We'll be drifting over some distant wreck, our rods arced over as we hit a massive shoal of huge pollack. Can't wait. THIS TRIP HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF THE WIND.
Annual Dinner 25 Jan, 2014 from 07:30 PM to 11:55 PM Dorset Arms, Lewes,
You know what this means... Good food, appalling company and the longest list of pointless prizes ever awarded by a fishing club. Book up immediately or regret it all year.
Offshore pollack or inshore cod 24 Jan, 2014 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
If the weather's fine, we'll be heading offshore after big winter pollack on the drift, otherwise we'll be inshore searching for the first 20lb cod of the year; all this and Dave videoing every fish Adam catches for posterity. Not to be missed.
Inshore codding 13 Dec, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
For the past few years the cod fishing has been better early in the winter, rather than late. So we're going to catch ourselves some big cod in shallow water. What could be more fun?
Eels, eels, eels (or maybe cod) 25 Nov, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 03:00 PM Newhaven,
If the weather is calm and not too cold, this will be another late, late chance to snag a monster eel and win the club's most prestigious trophy, the Really Eely Tankard. If it's a bit snotty or things have really got cold, we'll just have to put up with cod to 25lb inshore.
Wrasse trip 18 Nov, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 04:00 PM Weymouth,
The trip we all seem to love. The chance of a BIG wrasse off the Bill, along with maybe a few bass in the race when we run out of hardbacks, and possibly a squid or two for tea on the way in.
Late eeling action 30 Oct, 2013 from 07:30 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
Our Really Eely Tankard is in severe danger of not being awarded this year, due to the feeble size of the eels we've caught. This trip will set this wrong to rights. Bring your heavy gear and go all out for a monster. Bream may also still be available.
Autumn wrecking - re-scheduled 07 Oct, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
Probably our last chance to snag the Really Wrecked Really Eely Tankard. Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.
Autumn Weymouth trip 23 Sep, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Weymouth,
Our second trip on Wild Frontier with Clem Carter. It's the time of year when anything could happen... Blonde rays, turbot, bream, bass, porbeagles... One of these days...
Late summer wrecking 04 Sep, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
There will be bream for Colin and the eels will be in tip top condition for everyone else.
High summer wrecking 23 Aug, 2013 from 07:30 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
Having been 'blown off' by a forecast that was overly pessimistic, we've re-scheduled it for this Friday, so make a long Bank Holiday weekend of it. The eels will be fat, there may be cod on the wrecks taking baits too, and possibly even the odd early bream. Come and get 'em. The original crew take priority, but there may be spaces if they can't make it. I've put an * against the confirmed re-bookers.
Weymouth Summer Trip from 26 Jul, 2013 08:00 AM to 27 Jul, 2013 11:55 PM Weymouth,
All the usual bollocks and more, only this time we're all aboard the vast Wild Frontier with Clem Carter. Room for at least ten, and possibly 12 if there's enough interest, so it should be epic. Get your names down fast! Prices to follow
Summer on the wrecks 01 Jul, 2013 from 08:05 AM to 05:05 PM Newhaven,
Eels and a few fish on the drift are the target. This year will be our year.
Early summer wrecking 03 Jun, 2013 from 08:15 AM to 05:15 PM Newhaven,
The sun will be baking, the sea will be oily and we'll be at anchor over a mid-channel wreck somewhere hauling up huge eels...
Early wrecking 20 May, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Probably our first day trying for eels in the year. It's about time we had a big one.
Flatfish Cup Mark II 10 May, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Weymouth,
Once more there are four or five spaces on board Flamer for a flatfish trip. If the previous trip was cancelled, this will be the Flatfish Cup, otherwise it'll just be a chance to fill our boots with huge turbots.
Spring cod and pollack 25 Apr, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Newhaven,
Probably our last day on the drift, or maybe a first day at anchor.
Flatfish Cup 05 Apr, 2013 from 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM Weymouth,
Fishing on board Flamer first the first time, with a four or five man team against a four or five man team from the Newick Hookers fishing on the same boat. No excuses about a slow boat this time!
Annual Dinner 16 Mar, 2013 from 07:00 PM to 11:55 PM The Dorset Arms, Lewes,
The highlight of everyone's year, especially those who don't have to attend. For the rest of you, bad luck.
