Big cod for lucky sod
Another last minute trip produced the goods, with decent cod on the drift
I'm really not especially enjoying writing up trips where loads of fish were caught, but which I couldn't go on. This was another hastily arranged trip, as a window in the weather offered us the opportunity to get our East after the cod.
It was a bit sloppier than expected, but Dave braved the swell to head off in the direction of the sub and the cod which were plentiful. And to everyone's delight, there they were, waiting for them. While the fishing never went absolutely berserk, fish came all day, except perhaps over high water, and the crew ended the day with 35 cod and 12 pollack, which, for the hard of thinking, is around six fish per person.
Smuggest git of the day was Rob, landing a lovely 22lb 12oz cod, despite not having paid his subs yet. According to club rules, that makes it my fish. Hand it over, fucker.
